by Ilio Masprone – Publisher – Knight for Cultural Merit of the Principality of Monaco Dear followers, today I am focusing especially on Yachting, one of the most important economic areas for Monaco. The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) is the annual trade show in Monaco, where some of the newest luxury yachta are on display. The show features conferences and cocktail parties – basically a place to network and make new contacts. There’s a lot that goes on at Monaco Yah t Show – during the four days more than 30,000 visitors jostle to see the most exciting yachts launched in the past year as well as the finest yachts for sale. This year, from 25 September to 2 October, over 120 yachts were displayed, with up to 40 new yacht debuts and around 80 for sale or available for charter. The boats range from approximately 20 m (66 ft.) to 90 m (300 ft.) in length. The MYS was held in port Hercules, and is Europe’s biggest in-water display of large yachts. The Principality of Monaco is part of the prestigious stopovers for cruises croisiéristes. The idea is attributed to the German Albert Balli, director of Hapag-Lloyd, a big German cruise company. Until seventies the cruise ships were mostly converted ships by the shipping company cruise. Now, vessels are mainly cruise ships built for this usage. cruise has become an important activity of the tourism industry whose market is increasing every year more. This growing market allows some shipyards to survive. Also, I am pleased to announce my contribution to the next edition of Your Yacht Magazine, the Italian nautical magazine that RC Media published in December 2015, to be distributed for free in the West Liguria Region’s most popular and frequented marinas. The Publishing Company is looking forward to editing and distributing the magazine, in French and English, also in the French Riviera and the Principality of Monaco’s marinas. Very soon, from Menton to Cannes, every yacht will be rewarded with a copy of the new magazine. Your Yacht Magazine is a very innovative product in the yachting sector, and it represents a very good economic opportunity for the French and the Monegasque Riviera. Your Yacht Magazine is looking forward to founding a deep relationship with the ocean’s lovers and the yachting fans, from Menton to Cannes and beyond. I wish to thank the many readers and followers that inspired and sponsored this initiative of mine.
