SPRING COCKTAILS’ COLLECTION AT ELLINGTON HÔTEL NICE CENTRE****

Located in the heart of the city, the Ellington Hôtel Nice Center **** is one of the “Best Cultural Hôtels” in Nice, France. The whole building is beautiful, offering modern comforts while retaining many historical aspects from when it was founded in 1920, and has many original pieces in its comfy lounge and bar, including authentic chandeliers from the fabulous sixties.

The Ellington Hôtel construction starts in 1920 at 25, boulevard Dubouchage in Nice. It has the warm southern-colored facade identical to its neighbour: the Museum of Photography and Image “Charles Negre”, a must for anyone interested in photography as an art. Nice is a great cultural destination, with its large range of art galleries, historical attractions brilliant restaurants and a buzzing nightlife. There are many other options to experience the gorgeous French Riviera than walking along the famous Promenade des Anglais, or to spend a February soaking up the fantastic atmosphere of one of the largest carnivals in the world. The Hôtel Ellington Nice Centre is located within walking distance of most of Nice’s main attractions, including the historic Old Town and, of course, the beach. From the twenties until the Second World War’s outbreak, the Ellington Hôtel is a unique, luxurious and chic Hôtel. It has an interesting jazz theme that transports guests to the American -style establishment, united with French class. The name of the Hôtel is due to the American greatest jazz composer and bandleader ever, the pianist Duke Ellington, byname of Edward Kennedy Ellington, (April 29, 1899 – May 24, 1974).

In the fifties, a lovely Duke Bar & Lounge welcomes guests every morning for a large American breakfast and hosts guests every night on its sunny patio, with very pleasant jazz music being played, including regular live jazz nights to boot. In 2006, an independent entrepreneur buys the establishment. The new owner decides to reopen the Ellington under the name Hôtel Ellington Nice Center ****, completing by 2007 the total renovation of 103 rooms and junior suites in the Jazzy style. Individually styled with an elegant aesthetic, guestrooms of Hôtel Ellington Nice Centre showcase an outstanding selection of modern items in the form of flat-panel TV with optimal satellite channels, air conditioning with climate control, minibar, in-room safe, and blackout curtains. What’s more, a complimentary newspaper and toiletries, welcome amenities, and extra towels/bedding are thoughtfully added to provide comfort and convenience while extras such as cribs/infant beds and iron/ironing boards are available upon request. In 2008 the owner restored the Duke Bar & Lounge, jazzy bar with direct access to a 160m² patio and offering a wide choice of cocktails and live concerts.

In 2012 the opening of a new seminar room on the 1st floor and daylight for up to 70 people took place. The Hôtel now offers 130m² to its business clientele spread over 3 spaces. In 2013 it obtains the Green Key label (valid for 1 year, renewed every year since), and in 2014 the Nice gay friendly label Nice Irisée Naturellement. In 2015 the Ellington Hôtel Nice Center **** becomes an official partner of the City of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis as part of the Nice Jazz Festival. In 2016 it obtains the Qualité Tourisme label and becomes official ambassador of the digital campaign #CotedAzurNow initiated by the Regional Committee of Tourism, and in 2017 the Hôtel becomes official partner of the brand « Côte d’Azur –France». A true haven of peace in the center of Nice, the Jazziest establishment on the Côte d’Azur celebrates this new season with an ephemeral collection of floral cocktails imagined for the occasion. With each ray of sunshine, the Niçois eager for discreet and trendy addresses as well as the tourists staying in one of the 103 rooms of the establishment meet in the vast sunny patio of 160m ², unique in the city center from Nice.

With the arrival of spring, Cindy Corailler, barmaid of the Ellington Hôtel Nice Center ****, imagined an ephemeral collection of cocktails inspired flowers and plants of the region. These are 5 new creations including a non-alcoholic who register for a few weeks on the map of Duke Bar & Lounge. Rose, gentian, violet, thyme and basilica … the 5 cocktails will satisfy everyone’s tastes with their unique blend of springtime flavours. They will be offered in a limited edition from March 20 to June 20, 2018 at a price of € 12 per cocktail (€ 9 without alcohol).

From 8 pm to 12pm: Cocktails Bar
